Territory Manager Job (Winnipeg)

Purpose
The purpose of the Territory Manager is to develop and maintain, within assigned territory, a preference for purchasing valve related materials and services from the Valve Automation Center. This position may acquire new customers and work closely with the inside sales team to make recommendations for their customers.

Primary Responsibilities
Develop and maintain relationships with management personnel of major customers and other personnel in various functional departments such as customer service, maintenance and purchasing

Develop and implement strategies for key accounts to promote partnering
Assume full responsibility for management of designated accounts, including recommendations for both short and long term growth strategies
Determine sales call frequency for all assigned customers and make personal sales calls
Promote all new products and product improvements and target new business opportunities
Make recommendations to customers regarding the products and services for use in certain applications
Work with Inside Sales to develop and revise quotations as required to secure new business
Gain and maintain knowledge of competitors’ offerings and sales organizations
Resolve all customer complaints in a timely manner
Submit regular monthly expenses and mileage reports
Produce an annual business plan to drive and expand business with key accounts as well as develop new business and partnerships
Achieve or exceed sales and profit targets identified in business plan
Expand market share through regular customer visits and cold calling

Knowledge Required

Knowledge of Valve Automation Center’s Quality Management System and applicable tools
Knowledge of health and safety issues and regulations
Advanced knowledge of Valve Automation Center structure and processes

Education:

University degree
Equivalent college certification in a related field and directly related work experience

Experience:

3-5 years business development experience
Experience in leading teams
